Two years ago, I co-founded a community-based organization that seeks to highlight developmental activities through film, documentaries and music videos. My experience in the print media exposed me to the numerous challenges that community’s face but lack exposure due to the competitive nature of newsgathering in the print sector.

Street Level seeks to fill this gap by identifying and showcasing issues affecting marginalized communities. However, our journey has been constrained by lack of proper training, equipment and partners who can nurture us.

After attending a script writing lab in Nairobi two years ago, we have moved a step forward and purchased a few film making equipment but we still need exposure and skills development to enable us strengthen our work. Partnering with Maisha will greatly boost our experience and prepare us for a more professional approach in telling our stories.
