The Rwanda Cinema Centre, 2006, 2014 Maisha partnered with the Rwanda Cinema Centre for the Rwanda Screen Writing Lab funded by EU, ACP+ ACP, and the European Development Bank.
Ghetto Film School, 2008 Maisha produced a short film called Live, Joseph in Kampala for the New York City based non-profit. Maisha alums guided the 15 High School students from the Bronx, New York City as they embarked on their first filmmaking experience.
The Kenya International Film Festival, 2008 – 2010 Maisha holds the annual Kenya screenwriter’s lab with during KIFF, so that our participants are immersed in the local filmmaking community. Additionally, Maisha’s mentors hold an open master class during the festival.
Pangea Day, 2008 Maisha participated in the inaugural Pangea Day simulcast, which was seen by millions of people all over the world. Maisha students made 2-minute short films on mobile phones donated by Nokia.
The Zanzibar International Film Festival, 2008 – 2010, 2014 Maisha holds the annual Zanzibar screenwriter’s lab with during ZIFF, so that our participants are immersed in the local filmmaking community. Additionally, Maisha’s mentors hold an open master class during the festival.
The Amakula Kampala International Film Festival, 2009 – 2010 Maisha Film Lab hosts a Master class and a youth program during annual Amakula Film festival at the National Theater in Kampala.

Doha Tribeca Film Festival, 2010-2014Maisha and the Doha Film Festival have a cultural exchange between the two organizations to the benefit of their participants and alumni. Students from Doha attend Maisha labs in East Africa, and Maisha held our first Screenwriter’s Lab in Doha in 2011 and we returned in 2013 for a documentary lab where 4 short films were produced.
Columbia University School of Arts, 2010 The Feature Film Screenplay Mentorship Program links MFA screenwriting students at Columbia with intermediate and advanced screenwriters in east Africa.
Goethe Zentrum / UGCS – Kampala, 2012- Present Maisha Film Lab has partnered with Goethe Zentrum/UGCS for CinemArt, which holds monthly film screenings.

32º East, 2014 Maisha Film Lab has teamed up with 32 º East for KLA ART 2014, Kampala's biennial contemporary art festival that showcases contemporary artists from Uganda.
