Malia Scoth Marmo

Malia Scotch Marmo wrote Steven Spielberg’s fantasy, Hook, and also served as associate producer on the film. Her first produced film was “Once Around”, directed by Lasse Hallstrom.

Malia received story credit for Madeline. Malia’s uncredited work in order of the size of her contributing as she sees it includes, Jurassic Park, Other Sister, Only You, Enchanted and Polar Express.

She has stories to tell about collaborating with many established directors on produced and un-produced material, including Norman Jewis anon, Alfonso Cuaron, Alfonso Arau, Luis Mandoki, Sabiha Sumar, Garry Marshall and Rob Reiner. Malia graduated from Columbia University with an MFA in Film. She’s an adjunct professor at Columbia Graduate Film School, an Advisor for Sundance Institute and taught last summer at la FEMIS in Paris. Recently she co-wrote a script with Sabiha Sumar. The Film, entitled “Rafina” was shot in October 2010 in Karachi, Pakistan. Also in production is “Winged Boy” a story she rewrote for Gold Circle.
