Judy Dennis (Director) PATRIOTIC, Judy’s first short film as a director and screenwriter, screened at New Directors/ New Films at New York’s Museum of Modern Art and at festivals worldwide. For Televisions, she directed in the final season of HBO’s groundbreaking series OZ.

Judy enjoyed nearly three decades as a casting director in the main stream of America theater and film. She cast hundreds of plays in classical and contemporary theatre repertories throughout the US.

Film directors with whom she worked with range from Sir Peter Hall to Brian DE Palma, Terrence Malick, Andrezej Wajda, Julie Taymor and Ang Lee. She shared a special Emmy Award casting SEPARATE BUT EQUAL. Judy was Alan J. Pakula’s assistant on SOPHIE’S CHOICE, and dialogue director on two films by Michael Cimino. She served as a consultant on MEMORY AND HOPE: a Permanent Installation at New York’s Museum of Jewish heritage.

Judy also an Adjunct Professor at NYU’s Undergraduate School of film and Television, and teaches at Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute in New York. She is currently adapting Nobel Laureate Doris Lessing’s story OUT OF THE FOUNDATION to direct for film. After many years of collaboration, Judy joind her twin sister Ellen Dennis to produce performing arts worldwide. And together they produced LIVE: LIGHT ON LIFE!, a sold out ballet and film celebration of BKS Iyengar at new York’s City Center
