Director: Mark Kaigwa
Country: Uganda (2009)

Dawa is about one of the lowliest scams, seen through the eyes of two con artists: a grandfather and his grandson. The pair goes around pretending to be a blind man and his hapless assistant begging money from drivers stuck in traffic. The ambitious grandson, Shoke gets frustrated by the minor takings and convinces his grandfather, Guka to try his Witchcraft plan. Witchcraft has always been a source of controversy in Africa, and many conmen have become revered ‘traditional healers’ or Witchcraft getting rich by swindling customers. Dawa looks at this process from the eyes of the ragtag duo that end up causing their own downfall.
